Our principal and staff

We strive for excellence in all aspects of teaching, learning and leading. Through quality teaching, rich learning experiences and respectful collaborative practice, staff inspire students to be resilient, self-motivated and creative learners. In our evolving world, Gerringong Public School supports wellbeing and positive relationships to ensure all members of our community connect, succeed and thrive.

We are proud of the professional, caring and progressive service offered by staff to our community and its children. We aim to recognise the worth of each individual student and provide a variety of learning experiences catering for the educational needs of all students in a happy, caring and safe environment. Staff are at the forefront of the latest educational pedagogy, and therefore are highly trained to support your child. We are passionate about Aboriginal Education and ensure all students are connected culturally.

We believe at Gerringong Public School that strong partnerships between home and school supports and enhances students’ development. As a school community, we work together for the benefit of all children. The school actively encourages parents and community members to participate in the effective functioning of the school through a variety of options such as: joining the Parents and Citizens Association, participating in management committees, school canteen, uniform shop, attending school events, assisting teachers in the classroom when appropriate. The best education happens when parents and schools work together.

We believe in the importance of learning; that attendance at school is a priority; respectful cultural diversity that values our students’ abilities and talents. The necessity for children to learn basic and complex skills and develop a love of lifelong learning. The importance of catering for the individual needs of each student; empowering children and giving them opportunities to become successful citizens of the future and the importance of taking responsibility for individual actions. To develop the skills of gratitude, empathy and mindfulness to become resilient young adults all underpin what we do here at Gerringong Primary School.

Gerringong Public School is a welcoming and caring school community that develops and values the individual. Every student is known, valued and cared for at Gerringong Public School.
